The photographs in York History in Pictures are my own work as an amateur photographer. I would ask you to respect my copyright of the pictures. (A small number of photographs in the 'Roman' section were taken, with permission, in the undercroft of the York Minster. These pictures remain the copyright of the Dean and Chapter.)
If you would like a higher definition hard copy (6x4 ins) of any of the photos on my site please let me know. No charge will be made other than the cost of p&p.
A few larger photographs can be found by clicking the yellow 'Larger version of some images' button to the left of this page.
The York History in Pictures is split in to a number of different history time frames or areas of interest but it is appreciated that the photographs only scratch the surface of York history.
Many thanks to the visitors who have found the time to send me comments on the site this year. I've also managed to answer a number of questions sent in although the answer to one question relating to the the history of a live music venue in the Shambles still eludes me! If you have a particular interest in the history of York and/or you feel photographs should be included in York History in Pictures, which I've missed, please drop me a note!
Best wishes to all visitors for 2010
John
